On Wednesday 13 March 2019 Graham Viney (1970O) was invited to the Grill Room at Kelvin Grove for a repeat launch of his latest book The Last Hurrah: South Africa and the Royal Tour of 1947.
Commander Mac Bisset (1960G) introduced Graham to this launch which was organised due to the overwhelming popularity of the first event. Graham played the official video made of the Royal Tour by the South African government at the time. He would interrupt the movie to give context to the Tour, and to tell some fascinating insights relating to previous unseen footage.
The audience were served with popcorn, but all was quiet as they absorbed the historical scenes.
Dr Paul Murray (past Bishops staff and School Historian) also attended the launch.
For a review of The Last Hurrah, please see page 57 of the 3rd edition (March 2019) of The Old Diocesan magazine.
