Ultra X Sri Lanka takes place in a country nicknamed ‘The pearl of the Indian Ocean’. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country with an incredibly diverse culture. The course takes competitors through tea plantations and 10,000 year old rainforests, down rushing rivers and onto white sandy beaches. During this week competitors will get to experience in full the place, the people and the beauty of this iconic country, steeped in history and colour.

Conor Ray (Matric '11), Jacques Potgieter (Matric '13) and close Bishops friend, Luke Kuhn (Matric '12), embarked on an ambitious and extremely physically testing multi-stage Ultra marathon race in Sri Lanka from 15 - 19 April 2019. The team spent five days running varying distances through the Sabaragamuwa province, covering just under 250km. The relentless heat and humidity made this an incredibly challenging experience where running off road through waterfalls, rivers, fields and dust roads presented major challenges. The trio set out to raise monies for the Seashell Trust which provides a safe learning environment for children and young people with complex and severe learning disabilities.
