On 21 September, a group of Bishops boys, along with other climbers set out to complete the 13 Peaks Challenge within 48 hours, to raise funds for The Rhino Orphanage.

The 13 Peaks is a trail of 110km, originally set by ultra-trail runner Ryan Sandes and Kane Reilly (2010K), which includes a total vertical climb of over 6km.

Although Ollie Kennedy-Smith was the only Bishops boy to finish the tough challenge, R60 000 was raised in the process. A big congratulations must go to Ollie who finished the 110km challenge in 41 hours and 20 minutes.

The 13 Peaks Challenge is no easy task and we take out hats off to the boys and Berget Maree (staff), for raising funds as well as awareness for The Rhino Orphanage. A gallery can be found at the bottom of this article.

The Rhino Orphanage is a registered NPO based in Limpopo Province and is the first specialist, dedicated and non-commercial centre that cares for orphaned and injured baby rhinos with the only aim being to release them back into the wild.
