Guy Pearson (Principal) Reports: 

I am pleased to announce that the Matric Class of 2018 achieved excellent results.

Some of the highlights are as follows:

  • 153 boys wrote and passed the examinations; 98% achieved a Bachelors pass;
  • There were 493 subject distinctions (3,2 per candidate);
  • 13.4% of all subject results were above 90%;
  • 44.1 % of all subject results were above 80%;
  • There were 65 A aggregates (42% of the class) and 13 boys achieved an aggregate of 90% and above;
  • The top student was Derek Reissenzahn with an aggregate of 97.5%, followed by Ryan Solomons with 92,8%;
  • 9 distinctions were achieved by Derek Reissenzahn;
  • 8 distinctions were achieved by Thomas Janisch, Christopher Kotze, Daniel Le Jeune, Rayhaan Omar and Nivar Rajoo;
  • 14 boys achieved 7 distinctions; 20 achieved 6 distinctions and 14 achieved 5 distinctions;
  • 35% of the class achieved 5 distinctions or better;

At the WCED awards ceremony Derek Reissenzahn was awarded a certificate and prize for coming 2nd in the Province in the Matric exams last year. We congratulate Derek on this superb achievement. Bishops received a certificate of merit for being the top performing boys' school in the Province.

We are extremely proud of these results and congratulate every boy on his achievement and thank all the Bishops teachers whose guidance and motivation made these results possible.
