Event description
The Thames Hare & Hounds Alumni Cross Contry Race is the oldest of its kind in the UK. It is keenly contested with Eton, Winchester and Sherbourne usually slugging it out for the top prize. Alumni associations may enter as many runners as they like and may include family and friends, but only the first five genuine alumni past the post in each team count towards the result.
The ODs will be running for the third time and out of a field of almost sixty teams, have come in around thirteen - very creditable considering the small pool we have to select from.
Conditions are always wet and muddy, the atmosphere electric and the OD after-party at the local hostelry the envy of all.
