Meet our new OD Union Chairman - Adam Pike (1992O)

ADAM PIKE (43) Chairman of the OD Union (since March 2019).
 
After attending junior school at SACS, Adam moved to Bishops in 1988 where he was a dayboy in Ogilvie, matriculating in 1992. After school, He spent a year in Sintra, Portugal working as barman, in his parent's pub. The following year he returned to South Africa, to UCT, to study philosophy, classics and drama. Following his graduation in 1996, Adam took to the stage, starring in critically acclaimed works such as Master Haroldand the Boys, by Athol Fugard and Visiting Mr Green, by Jeff Baron. He wrote for the small screen and stage, having his play, Locked, produced and performed at Artscape. He was nominated for the Vita (twice) and Fleur du Cap theatre awards.  Adam returned to UCT in 2003 to study law, served articles at what is now Werksmans, completed a master’s degree specialising in corporate law in 2013, resigned from Webber Wentzel on 16 September 2014 and has run his own practice, Pike Law, since then. He specialises in M&A, corporate actions, corporate and commercial litigation, shareholder activism and other complex and interesting problems. His wife Lisa and their two daughters spend as much time on their bicycles as possible, terrorising all and sundry on the Constantia greenbelts. Alexandra (7) and Katherine (4) attend the International School of Cape Town, where Adam serves on its board of directors. Adam initially served on the OD Committee as an Observer before becoming a full member of the Committee, heading up the legal, governance and risk portfolio. After Bruce Jack's resignation, Adam was appointed as Chairman of the OD Union.
