UK Branch Secretary, Nicky Bicket (1973F) reports: When I was asked to be the UK Branch Secretary in September 2013, I formed a small "committee" that met precisely once. Their view at the time was that I should just get on with the job and revert only if there were any problems. There haven't been any, or none so complex that they required a committee to solve (or exacerbate). But we now feel that the we have got to a point where a small advisory group representing the broad range of interests of the members would be helpful in keeping the branch relevant and fresh. This group, as far as the early thinking goes, would meet no more than quarterly, either virtually or, preferably, face-to-face in a venue conducive to relaxed discussion and decision-making.
