This is the last letter of 2021 and, one hopes, the last under Covid. Throughout the year and despite the restrictions, we followed the science. There were, against the odds, several functions and events. We were busy and engaged and ODs across the years came together in a most solid, and in some cases, liquid, way. These occasions have included (click on the links to see the reports and photos):

Three fireside chats: Nick Dall (B, 2000) on his book Rogues Gallery; Pete Farlam (K, 1987) speaking on mental health and Dugald Macdonald (W, 1967) and Francois Louw (W, 2003) on the evolution of rugby over the years

There were two university pub lunches: one at Oxford and one at Cambridge

Three golf matches: The Old Tonbridgians, The Old Haileyburians and the first ever against the alumni golfers of Michaelhouse and Hilton

Our Annual Dinner was held (eventually) at The Carlton Club

Stonehage Fleming, international wealth manager and family office hosted a reception at which Peter Elliott (W, 1967) talked about becoming a writer

A country lunch at The Bell (see below) and coming up ...

Our first OD Carol Service in London on Wednesday 8th December

It bears repeating that these events and functions are a means to an end, and that end is the strengthening of ties between ODs and the building of networks for them to tap into. So do exploit them with a purpose in mind. In short, hustle! ODs love to help ODs and these events help you find that support. Let it also be said that the monthy highlighting of ODs ON THE MOVE is not only for us to honour and congratulate fellow ODs on their achievements, but to stimulate the possibility of collaboration.
