Case Rijsdijk (past staff) awarded in Astronomy

On August 2nd, Case Rijsdijk (past staff) was presented with the Gill Medal for services to Astronomy by the Astronomical Society of Southern Africa, ASSA. Named in Honour of Sir David Gill (Director of the Observatory in Cape Town from 1879 - 1907), the Gill Medal is the highest award for astronomy in the country, a just reward for Case's long, industrious and innovative work in the field of astronomy and astronomy education. At the same event he was made President of the ASSA.
