In the words of Dom's good frined Andrew 'Tank' Lanning (1989S)

Played 1st XV loosehead prop in the unbeaten 1989 1st XV, as part of what I am told is still the heaviest front row Bishops has ever had. Hooker was Rowan Belchers, tighthead Tank Lanning. Think we were heavier than the WP front row that year.

A gentle giant in touch with his artistic side, he loved his music, and connecting with good friends.
He eventually lost a long fight with bowel cancer, passing away on Friday 10 December in the Knysna hospital.

For the last 9 or 10 years, he owned and managed the Oyster Shack in Sedgefield, where he lived as a colourful character who touched many in the garden Route area.

Members of Dom's class have organized a memorial for Dom on Friday 17 January to be held at the Barry Heatlie Pavilion from 16:30 to 21:00, for those who cannot make the trip to the Wilderness.

There will be some snacks and a cash bar.
