Spencer (2018F) has signed a 2-year deal with the Jersey Reds in the Channel Islands after graduating from the Edinburgh rugby academy last year.

“It’s a great club for me to develop as a player, be in a professional environment and is well known for being a ‘feeder’ club for the premiership,” says Spencer.

The Jersey Reds compete in the Greene King IPA Championship, the second tier of English rugby. Being only 20 years old, Spencer has been aware of the challenges of playing professional rugby.

“Yeah definitely, it’s has been very tough and a big step-up from the rugby I have played before but I’m very grateful to be doing it as a job.”

The outside centre is currently finishing off a property course which he started while at Edinburgh.

Well done George, we look forward to following your career.
