David Abbott (1966S) 1948 - 2021

David Abbott (1966S) sadly passed way on Saturday morning, 9 October.

David Abbott (1957- 1966S) sadly passed way on Saturday morning, 9 October. He had been suffering from pancreatic cancer for some time.

His friend, Donald Bett (1966F) writes: "David was a very good friend of mine in Prep School in Stanmore (1959-60) & Birt House (1961). When we went to College he was in School House and I went to Founders. We lost touch somewhat until after leaving school, when we caught up at class reunions. I also saw David a few times on visits to Cape Town when living in Jo’burg.

More recently when we moved to Hermanus and he was living in Stanford, we chatted every now and then. He told that we that he was having treatment for pancreatic cancer  and was hoping for the best. Sadly this aggressive form of cancer ended his life."
