On Thursday evening a lovely investment function was held at The Mitre. All our efforts on building relationships with other alumni bodies started paying off as there were Old Hiltonians and Old Grey Boys present too. It was great learning about life at their schools and stories from growing up in other parts of South Africa. Many of these like-minded alumni mix at the local universities and it was a real privilege to host them in The Mitre.  James Downie (Old Hiltonian) gave a fascinating talk on the fundamentals of investing and a view point on monitoring investments. Further discussions involved the value of an MBA, the importance of teaching young children Mandarin and investing overseas. We thank Carrick Wealth for sponsoring the delicious snacks and drinks.
