Dear Peter 73 years ago, to the day, one of our own was killed in the line of duty. Wing Commander, George Laurence Bazett Hull DFC (1930S) crashed and died shortly after the war had ended. His story is one of true endurance and courage, from surviving and executing countless bombing attacks, enemy capture and even a "Great Escape" from a POW Camp. Though his life may have been short-lived, it was lived to the fullest. Let it remind us of the fragility of life and may it shed perspective on the size of our troubles. We wish Principal Guy Pearson a speedy recovery after undergoing an emergency stent operation earlier this week. We hope the last few months of his term at Bishops will be as stress-free as possible. Then, we'd like to wish Nicky Bicket (1973F) a very happy birthday today. We thank him for all the hard work and unfathomable dedication he has poured into this Union, from heading-up the largest overseas branch, managing the Mentoring program, and even the occasional statistical analyses when called upon! Nicky, your efforts have not gone unnoticed and we'll be toasting across the pond to you. Pro fide et patria. Kind regards, Adam & Nicole |
