Dear James Is your 2019 glass half full or half empty? We're (almost) six months into the year, or would you say there's only six months left of it? Whichever way you see it, as we reach the mid-way break, we hope you're able to take some time out and reflect on the time gone by and all the wonderful times still to come. This will be the last Mitre Message until the third term starts in July. For those travelling these holidays, we wish you all a safe journey filled with many happy memories. Kind regards, OD Union Office |

Taken from the reply at the recent UK OD Dinner: "...A former housemaster of School House, Basil Bey, used to say that there were two types of ODs: there were men who had been to Bishops and then there were Bishops Men. (Apologies to the women in the room, but these words were spoken in a different time.) There is no definition of what makes someone a Bishops Man but, those of us who are grateful for the education we received, the physical and emotional development we experienced, and the friends we made while we were at our school will simply know a Bishops Man when we see him. ~Christopher (Choppy) Bands (1990K) |
