19 June Dear Jeremy 2020 Matric class memorandum update The College Executive and Senior Pupil Leadership met on Monday 8 June to discuss the Memorandum of Demands. The College Executive, led by outgoing principal Guy Pearson, thanked the matrics for the dignified and peaceful protest held at the school the previous Friday and acknowledged receipt of the Memorandum of Demands. It was resolved that the group would wait for the new principal Tony Reeler to assume office on 1 July and then resume discussions on the way forward. A letter, committing to use this opportunity to tackle all forms of prejudice and discrimination in the school, was signed by Senior Pupil Leadership and College Executive present. The OD Union committee, through its chairman Wilbur van Niekerk (1985K), has actively communicated with the school around the content of the memorandum and the subsequent meeting and is committed to ongoing engagement with the school. We appreciate the receipt of all communication from ODs and continue to engage internally with our members on these matters. Kind regards, The OD Committee |

While attending Diocesan College we are always told of the massive network we have entered into. In order for this network to be valuable, active engagement is integral. Thousands of ODs have registered on our online platform. An online shop where members can purchase memorabilia will be coming soon, so do keep an eye out. |
