6 November | Good luck to the 2020 Matrics
Dear Jeremy
The matric class of 2020 walked out of the Memorial Chapel with their classmates for the final time last week; a memory shared by all ODs. Friends and family to see you off as you head into a new chapter of your life after attending final assembly, prize giving and valedictory. This matric class has certainly taught us how to come together and move forward for the betterment of all.
The article below gives a great look at the proceedings and their visit to the OD Mitre; the gallery contains many pictures taken by Craig Watson (1979S). Join us in wishing the matrics good luck for their final exams in the comments.
This week, we mourn the passing of Melvyn Wallis-Brown, Michael Robottom, Elizabeth MacKenzie and James Sinclair from our community. Nicky Bicket’s (1973F) final UK newsletter of 2020 was sent out and congratulations to Daniel Tate (2016G) who has been awarded the Bishops Rhodes Scholarship. An interesting Q&A with John Gardener (1948G) from the archives for great insights into Bishops history. Back to the present, from issue 6 of The Old Diocesan, Dillyn Leyds (2010S) speaks with Duncan Cruickshank (1985G) about taking his rugby talents to France.
Lastly, Lukhanyo Neer (2008B), the head of the governance sub-committee has invited you to contribute to the formation of a new constitution. Please see ODU announcements. Please share OD news from around the world, we’d love to publish stories of what you’ve been up to.
Kind regards,
Jeremy Ryall (2014F)
