Henry Herbert
Henry Herbert
Wendy Herbert is a descendant of Henry Herbert who started Bishops with the inaugural Principal Henry Master White at Protea in Bishopscourt in 1849. He was a talented cricketer and also had a passion for reading.

After Wendy recently wrote to us asking for any info on Henry, we searched for any relevant information in the archives and came upon several books with his name inscribed in them. He added several tomes to the library which have been preserved to this day. The inscription appearing in the photograph above was found in the edition of David Hume’s “A History of England” published in 1791.
