Today at assembly (Friday 24 October) the incoming Head of School Michael Mafunda delivered his inaugural address.
In this address as Head of School for 2026, he spoke about his deep love for Bishops and the honour it is to serve this community. Grounded in Luke 12:48 “To whom much has been given, much is expected” he shared his commitment to lead through both the triumphs and challenges that the year ahead will bring.
Michael reflected on the Memorial Chapel’s centenary (2026), the strength of the team beside him, and the unity of his Grade as custodians of the Mitre.
Above all, he expressed his belief that Bishops’ greatness is not something to be made, but something to be continued.
An undeniable truth rooted in our proud 176-year legacy.
We wish Michael and his Team all the best for 2026!
