Invitation from Citadel

Where to from here?

While many South Africans have welcomed the eased COVID-19 regulations, the global economy is still reeling from the consequences of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in recent weeks. A National State of Disaster has also been declared in response to the severe floods and landslides caused by heavy rainfall in KwaZulu-Natal. According to national authorities, 4 000 houses were destroyed and more than 8 000 others damaged.

These geopolitical developments may have an impact on supply chains, fuel and commodity prices, and on overall inflation, which will have both a negative and positive impact on the markets.

At the same time, South Africa's ruling party, the ANC, is gearing up for their National Elective Conference to take place in December. A growing economy is critical for President Cyril Ramaphosa's successful bid for a second term.

Citadel would like to invite you, in partnership with the Old Diocesan Invest in our Future Foundation (IIOFF), to an exclusive alumni breakfast where our speakers, Citadel Portfolio Manager, Nishlen Govender, and acclaimed political analyst, Lawson Naidoo, of the Paternoster Group, will talk you through the impact global politics is having on the markets, what it means for South Africa and the ANC.

This promises to be a relaxed, yet informative affair, where you can ask our speakers and the Citadel team questions.

We look forward to spending time with you.
