Farewell to Frank Smit (1969G)

"Frank was a tremendous family man"

Frank Smit (1969G) passed away in UCT Private Academic Hospital in Cape Town on 13 April 2022.  His wife, Gill,  asked us to make a simple announcement about the circumstances that lead to his passing.  She sent us a note saying:

“Frank had health issues for much of 2021, which made him vulnerable to the COVID-19 virus and he died from chronic Covid pneumonia, leaving behind Gill (to whom he was married since 1977), 3 sons and 4 grandchildren. Frank was a tremendous family man”.

Frank ran his own e-learning business called Bridgewater Learning.  He and Gill lived in Somerset West until 2008  and then moved to Rondebosch where he spent his latter years.

We were sorry to hear that he had experienced such ill health over the past year until his passing on 13 April 2022, and send our deepest condolences to his family.
