Reunions |
On Friday afternoon 29 August 2025 the 2005 Leavers were taken on a tour of the College with their tour guides being Andy Wood the Executive Director of the ODU himself an OD (1977G), and the ODA Dr Paul Murray (Staff: 1991 - ).
The touring party started at the Exhibition Centre at the ODU, with Andy Wood explaining this important space and then proceeded to the Piley Rees and then into the War Memorial Chapel for a tour there.
Paul Murray explained the importance of the building which is included in the Lutyens Trust itinerary when architects visit Cape Town.
OD Geoff de Wet (1964G), has made a particular study of the building and will present a talk on it on Wednesday 03 September at The Mitre (11.00am).
From there we went to see the new Ubuntu Learning Centre, opened last year at the official ceremony and blessed by Archbishop Thabo Makgoba.
The tour ended there, and the members of the class of 2005 could then proceed to their next stop, a classic meeting place, Forries.
They will return the following day for Coffee and Muffins at The Mitre, watch the BishBosch match and return to The Mitre to continue their celebrations.
It was great connecting with ODs and engaging with them & finding out more about the time since they left school.
