Rogan Earp-Jones (1969F) popped into The Mitre for a visit on Thursday 28 March.
He came to collect a signed copy of
John Sharp’s (1969O) book
Facing Down Fear.
He gave very positive feedback about
The OD Magazine.
On further questioning, it turns out that he has been involved with
Gilbert and Sullivan and
Pineland Players amateur productions since 1972 (i.e. shortly after leaving school). .
Rogan has done over 50
G&S productions, and has recorded copies of all of them since 1983 (when technology allowed recording).
He explained that he has been Chairman of both
G&S and
Pinelands Players Societies, and is the only person to be an Honorary Life Member of both Societies.
Rogan also knows many ODs that have passed through the theatre scene.
He immediately mentioned
Anthony Storr Lister (1973G). Anthony’s Father was a legendary teacher at Bishops, he himself was the Development Appeal Director (building up to Bishops 150), and he is currently teaching at SACS.
All of this links nicely with a story about two weeks ago in the Newsletter:
