The OD Ambassador says his goodbyes to ODs in Cambridge.

Dr Paul Murray is flying back from Cambridge today.

Dr Paul Murray has completed his time in Cambridge and is on his way home.  He has had to say numerous farewells to the ODs that he met and spent time with while he was in the UK.

Dr Murray has been invited to take part in the lives and experiences of academics, sportsmen, clergymen and working ODs and comes home enriched on many levels.  The list is too long to mention but it is evident that it has been a wonderful time and he has enjoyed the hospitality of many friends who all made him feel welcome.

Recently we received this update from him where he wrote:

"I was very fortunate during my time in the UK to be the guest of the Cambridge Rugby Union Football Club to spectate at the matches where Christian and Ty played. I was invited by Nick Koster (2007F) a former tutee in Founders, and Head of School to watch some of the games where ODs played.  He is the current Cambridge co-chairman and was a former captain.

Congratulations to Christian Stehlik (2016F) and Ty Wills – (2013K) on their selection in the  Varsity Rugby Match for Cambridge University against Oxford University at Twickenham on Saturday 25 March 2023.

Recently I met up with David Boddy (1971,0) who attended the St John’s College Chapel Service of Evensong.  David reminisced over the significant role Dr ‘Doc’ Brown played in his life.  He still keeps up with singing in his beautiful tenor voice.

This morning I had tea and the Michaelhouse café with the Reverend Andrew Day, a former staff member with his wife Yvette who taught music with Garmon Ashby.

I've met so many ODs and had a brilliant six months in the UK but now it’s time to go home."

Safe travels Dr Murray.  Welcome home - we look forward to your being back in the office on Monday.
