ODs support little Hunter Emms

A group of parents and ODs decided to support Hunter Emms the son of Barry and Shirley Emms (Barry is a member of staff).

On Friday 08 August parents and ODs turned out at an event held in the Woodlands Pavilion to support the Emms family.  In the photograph above are Brendan Prestage (Birt House, 1990); Peter Todd (Founders House, 1986); Andrew Vintcent (School House, 1989); Jeremy Prain (Kidd House, 1993); Philip Dicey (Founders House, 1989); Christopher Twycross (Founders House, 1997); Chris Edwards (Gray House, 1993);  James Edwards (School House, 1995); Chris Garratt (Gray House, 1995); Sean Gomes (Gray House, 1994); Paul Murray (ODA - Bishops Staff 1991 - ); Paul de Waal (Oglivie House, 1987).

The evening was greatly enjoyed by a range of guests from ODs, Staff and Parents.  Joc Wrensch conducted a quizz to make the evening one of great entertainment; ODs had many opportunities for connecting and engaging and also to show support for a young person whom they know as the friend of their own sons, now at Bishops.

Hunter Emms is an 8-year old boy, brother to Finn (also at Bishops), the children of Barry and Shirley Emms (Barry is Head of English).  At 18 months he was diagnosed with an Optical Nerve Glioma which has caused total blindness in one eye leaving him with 40% vision in the other.  To shrink a tumour on his brain, he recently underwent a hectic six weeks of intense radiotherapy.  His parents are doing all they can to ensure Hunter leads as normal a life as possible.

It was great to see so much OD support for Hunter.
