This year’s tournament was the second of its kind having started in 2015, is somewhat of a curtain raiser for the showpiece event currently taking place, see teams from all over the world compete.

UCT kicked off their campaign beating the University of British Columbia 40-0 (Canada), followed by a hefty 52-0 victory against Bordeaux University (France), rounding off their pool stage games with a win against a combined New Zealand University side, beating them 31-14.

They next faced a strong challenge in the form of old rivals Oxford University (United Kingdom) in the semi-finals, winning 15-0.
The final saw the men from Cape Town take on Bordeaux again, winning 17-3.
