Robin Cox (1972PM) publishes his final book in an acclaimed series.

Robin Cox and Paul Murray at the ODU have been engaged in correspondence for Robin's latest book, 52 Mentor Musings: To Encourage Anyone Motivating Youth (Wipf & Stock: 2025) to see how awarness can be created for ODs interested in Youth Education.

It is available at https://www.amazon.co.za/52-Mentor-Musings-Encourage-Motivating/dp/B0F88MCRC6

The book offers weekly reflections together with practical ways and strategies (with authentic stories) for those who work in supporting young people such as mentors, coaches, educators, parents, and community leaders alike.

Robin draws for his rich work experience from where he has been in the world.

What are the realities that face today's youth, and how can they suitably equip themselves and cope?

It does not come as a surprise that Robin has engaged in such noble work for the benefit of inspiring others to work in youth affairs.  Speaking at Speech Day in 1972, the Principal Mr Anthony Mallett said of the Head Prefect (Robin Cox, PM):

"The modern day prefect's task is more complex than it used to be; he is more mentor than tyrant: he must command respect through his inherent personality rather than rely on his status; yet he remains a fallible human being, and one for whom the dichotomy in loyalties can pose very real personal crises. Example is perhaps sUI the most effective way of ensuring respect, and the quite admirable example given to his prefects and the rest of the school by Robin Cox has been widely recognised, and I thank him deeply for it, and for his support."

We congratulate Robin on his publication and the ODU can be proud of him as he continues to work tirelessly to empower others.
