ODU Office News |
Our Chairman, Wilbur van Niekerk, attended a special WOBU Dinner last week. As usual Bishops was well represented. This was a great occassion enjoyed by all.
Left to right, Wilbur van Niekerk, Chairman of the ODU, Deon Scheepers, Headmaster, Larry Moser, Deputy Headmaster, Matthew Thomson, President WOBU.
Wilbur writes about his evening:
It was a most memorable evening of warm fellowship and interesting conversation. I was made to feel thoroughly welcome by those who met me for the very first time around the fires at drinks.
It was special to be seated at the table with legendary past Headmasters Keith Richardson and Jan de Waal together with Headmaster Deon Scheepers and WBJS Headmaster Cedric Poleman.
Through the excellent speeches delivered by Matthew, Deon and Cedric I finally got to understand what Supera Moras means to Wynberg old boys, and that sense of overcoming challenges was evident among those present.
It was a special evening spent with lovely people.
We are always grateful for the many invitations like these that are extended by other old boy unions. These are wonderful opportunities to continue to build and strengthen the friendships and ties we have grown over time.
