Class of 1963

We received the sad news from Elizabeth, wife of David Edward Grant (1963O) that he passed away on Sunday, 27 August, aged 77.  She sent us the following:

David Edward Grant died peacefully in Ipswich, UK, on 27th August 2023 after suffering from the effects of a progressive muscle weakness condition for the last 15 years.

After running his own textile business in SA., David trained to be a Stock broker/ Financial Advisor in the UK and ran a very successful business advising a large number of clients.

He is sorely missed him but I am relieved he no longer is having to suffer from his physical disability.

He remained stoical to the end and retained his lovely sense of humour and his great love of sport.

He had a very strong Christian faith which helped him to cope with the limitations of his physical disability.

He always had a great love for South Africa and was very sad not to be able to visit the country more often, where he was born; and grew up; and had so many friends; and where he had many happy memories.

May he rest in peace with the Lord.

Our condolences go out to his family and close friends.
