ROBERT DE VILLIERS ROWAND - 31 MAY 1943 - 30 OCTOBER 2025

We are sad to report the death of Robert De Villiers Rowand (1961F) in Constantia, Cape Town on 30 October 2025.
Robert was at Bishops from 1952 to 1961. The brother of the late Don Rowand (1955F) and the great-uncle of several ODs and current pupils, he was a very proud OD. He was a reunion regular – he was at his 60th in 2021 – and an enthusiastic reader of The Old Diocesan, among other things.
Robert had a distinguished career in insurance and was a much-loved family man, warmly regarded in his social circles in Cape Town, Johannesburg and London.
We send our condolences to his family.
