ROBERT DE VILLIERS ROWAND - 31 MAY 1943 - 30 OCTOBER 2025

We are sad to report the death of Robert De Villiers Rowand (1961F) in Constantia, Cape Town on 30 October 2025.
Robert was a very proud OD, a reunion regular (he was at his 60th in 2021) and an enthusiastic reader of The Old Diocesan, among other things.
He was at Bishops from 1952 - 1961.
Robert was a much-loved family man, warmly regarded in his social circles in Cape Town, Johannesburg and London.
He had a distinguished career in insurance and was a proud OD. He was the brother of the late Don Rowand (1955F), the great-uncle of Jack (2019B) and Tom Rowand (2023,F), and the father-in-law of Tim Richman (1995B).
We send our condolences to his daughters, Leigh Herringer and Julia Richman, and his extended family.
A service for Robert will be held in Constantia in early December.
