CHRISTOPHER NEIL LE MESURIER (1948 - 2026)

Chris Le Mesurier was a proud old boy of Bishops Prep and the Diocesan College, where he was a member of Gray House and matriculated in 1966 (1966G). He was one of three Le Mesurier brothers to attend Bishops, alongside Timothy (1964G) and Nicholas (1968G), continuing a remarkable family association with the school. His father, Peter Le Mesurier (1935O), served Bishops Prep for many years as a teacher and Housemaster, and made a lasting contribution to the school through teaching, cricket, and preserving its history and archives.

A sporty and active all-rounder, Chris embraced much of what Bishops had to offer, playing cricket, rugby and boxing, and participating in its many societies. Fly-fishing, however, became his endearing passion. Well-liked by his contemporaries, Chris will be remembered for his eloquence, sharp wit, wonderful sense of humour and his ability to bring any gathering to life. His stories and adventures were part of his charm, and his old school friends will remember him with great affection.

The Le Mesurier legacy at Bishops continues through generations, with Chris’s son and grandson also experiencing Gray House, even if only briefly. Their connection carries forward the "Lemmie" lineage and the family’s enduring ties to the school. Chris leaves behind a rich legacy of friendship, sporting spirit and service, and will be fondly remembered by his family, fellow ODs and the wider Bishops community. Once a Gray boy, always a Gray boy. Floreat Bishops!
