In the words of Colin's brother, Patrick;

I wish on behalf of my mother and me, Patricia and Patrick Harpur, to place an obituary notification for my brother Colin Andrew Lindsay Harpur who sadly passed away in Ballincollig Ireland on the 31st January 2020.

He was an intellectual,  author and poet and publisher and brilliant intellectual.

He attended UCT and graduated with a BA in English and Psychology.
He moved to just outside Cork in Ireland and got married and settled there in 2000

He spent many happy years with his wife there and writing his various novels and books of poetry.

Latterly he was diagnosed with diabetes and his health deteriorated.
His sudden passing was nevertheless a huge shock and he will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

He was a man of iron will and very strong liberal beliefs and was prepared to defend his beliefs to the end.

We all admire his integrity and self-belief and salute him convinced he has gone to a better place and is reunited with his wife, Pat.
