Reunions |
A great OD drinks event was hosted in Hong Kong on Friday, 28 May. We managed to get a group of 9 ODs together, with 2 others (Chase Watling 2004S, Bruce Seymour 1984S) unable to attend, one OD in quarantine and another in Shenzhen (China) and therefore unable to cross the border.
Of the 9 attending as follows:
L-R back: Martin Muller (2006O), James Dixon (2005S), Steve Winter (2009B), Chris Gibson (2004S), Fred Scholtz (2011B), Ian Mcintosh (1991G).
L-R front: Bruce De Jager (1994S), Martin Versfeld (2010S), Ray Wepener (1991B).
Organisers of the event: Martin Versfeld (2010S) on the left, Bruce de Jager (1994S) on the right side. Bruce is also the ODU branch head for Hong Kong.
This is the first event in a number of years, and we are hoping to host something more formal in the near future. As Covid-19 eases we hope to do be able to host something in Asia to include other OD’s across HK, Singapore, South Korea, Australia, and whomever else we can find!
As an aside the event was hosted at a Hong Kong-based biltong bar/deli called Chief’s Blend, co-owned by an old Rondebosch boy (who also took the photo)!
