Andrew de Klerk (1970W) came to pay a visit to The Mitre, but more specifically to White House. Andrew brought along his godson, George Ascherl, and together they came to pay their respects to Andrew's elder brother, Stephen de Klerk. In 1960 Stephen was Second Prefect, and Head of White House. Stephen tragically passed away in his 21st year whilst undergoing an operation for a troublesome nose ailment which had bothered him for some time.
There is a beautiful plaque in the White House foyer in memory of Stephen.
It was good for Andrew to walk around Bishops, and he did exclaim that it is good to be in Cape Town!
Andrew is currently a Trial Lawyer in New Orleans, Louisiana.
