Bishops recognised as the top academic school in the province at the event hosted by Premier Alan Winde and MEC David Maynier.

This morning (Tuesday, 30 January 2024) Premier Alan Winde and Western Cape Education MEC, David Maynier, hosted the Western Cape National Senior Certificate 2023 Awards Ceremony at Leeuwenhof, the Premier’s Residence.

The event celebrated outstanding achievements by schools and candidates in the 2023 National Senior Certificate examinations and Bishops did not disappoint!

Principal, Tony Reeler shared this message with the Bishops Community afterwards:

Dear Bishops Community

I attended the Western Cape Education Department awards ceremony, held this morning at the Premier of the Western Cape, Mr Alan Winde’s home at Leeuwenhof at which the top achieving schools and individual pupils were recognised.

I am delighted and proud to report that Bishops was recognised as the top academic school in the Province! In addition, Bishops was the top-performing school in Mathematics (shared with Herschel) and the top-performing school in Physical Sciences. Our school Dux, Kaspar Holm, was in the Top 40 in the province.

I am very proud of the Class of ’23 and this outstanding achievement and congratulate the boys, their teachers and the staff who supported them on their journey and our parents and guardians on their efforts to encourage and motivate their boys.

Well done!

Tony Reeler

Congratulations from the ODU!
