The 2018 Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture, in partnership with the Motsepe Foundation, was delivered by former US President Barack Obama in Johannesburg on 17 July, at the Wanderers Stadium. It was the 16th Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture. ODs who were present to witnessed this historic occassion included Obakeng Leseyane (2012S), College Council Member Moshe Apleni (1997F), and Lukhanyo Neer (2008B).
