Reunions |
A delicious and auspicious lunch was enjoyed in The Mitre Boardroom by representatives of the 1953 Reunion group.
Wives / partners also attended.
The Boardroom was beautifully decorated with flowers, and lively chatter was heard as old stories were brought back to life once again.
Congratulations to Geoff Burton (1953G) for his sterling efforts in bringing this group together, and for preparing the food and the venue. Geoff was ably assisted by his wife, Mary, whom many ODs will recall as the first women to serve on The College Council (1991- 2001).
The Reunion lunch coincided with Alan Bamford's (1953F) birthday. Alan's Post-Matric contemporary, Paul Cannon (1953S), led the charges as they all sang Happy Birthday to Alan, who had travelled all the way from Makhanda (previously Grahamstown) to attend this special occasion.
Present were (as in the picture):
Back Row (Left to right) Robin Hadwen (1953G), Paul Cannon (1953S), Nigel Payne (1953O), John Powell (1953O), Jan Bentley (1953F) and Tony Ainslie (1953 G).
Seated left to right is: Alan Bamford (1953F) and Geoff Burton (1953G).
