Ian Michler (1977W) gave a thought provoking and challenging presentation on the causes and consequences of the current state of the anthropocene, our current ecological age. Backed by a wealth of statistics he shared environmental and economic trends that have brought humanity and the world in which we live to a tipping point. Ian is a graduate of the University of Stellenbisch and has spent over 30 years working as an environmental journalist, wilderness guide and ecotourism consultant. The event was holsted by the OD Union, sponsored by Stonehage Fleming and supported by ODs, parents, and friends of the school.
Congratulating Ian were, Richie Ryall (1977F), Simon Koch (1977S), Ken Findlay (1978S), Ian Proudfoot (1976G) and Simon Caro (1977S). Sakkie Learmonth (1962F) is on the right.
