Trust Update - 20th October

2018 will be the third incredibly successful year of the groundbreaking Extra Term Initiative at Bishops; a component of the newly launched Hamilton Mvelase Bursary Fund.
This program sees a current Bishops family, an OD class group or organization support a boy from a previously disadvantaged background by paying one term’s school fees annually, for the duration of the boys college career.

Below you will see the breakdown of what that amounts to financially – this tax-deductible (Section 18A) contribution is therefore not a huge burden. Four OD year groups (covering the four terms annually) would easily be able to provide the fees required to give a deserving boy the incredible opportunities afforded by a Bishops education.

The donor (or donor OD group) will receive bi-annual progress reports from both the school and the beneficiary. A voluntary mentorship program is also in place and the donor and beneficiary families may be introduced at a meeting arranged by the school. We require funding for 8 boys for 2018.

Over and above the Extra Term Initiative, we are seeking any donation towards the Hamilton Mvelase Bursary Fund, so should you not choose to participate in the Extra Term Programme, please consider making a contribution to the overarching Hamilton Mvelese Bursary Fund. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a huge difference to the future of Bishops. We even have young ODs, just out of school, committing to a monthly pledge. Please become part of this amazing rejuvenation and follow the links to make a pledge or payment towards Bishops Bursaries.
