On Monday 25 July 2018 Francois Zondag (1970S) popped into The Mitre to try on an OD blazer. Francois explained that he was part of the Post-Matric Class at Bishops. He matriculated at Jan van Riebeeck High School before coming to Bishops. Anthony Mallett was Principal of Bishops at the time. His wife was at Groote Schuur High School.
Francois is currently farming near Avontuur, in the Langkloof. His sons, whom he sent to Paarl Boys' High, are the 10th generation on the farm, which has belonged to the Zondag family for 253 years!
