Passing of friends |
Patrick worked for Engen Petroleum and SAPIA and retired to Montagu. We send our sincere condolences to his wife Barbara, his daughters, Susan and Kathy, and his three grandchildren.
Patrick, on his own initiative, started the Langeberg/Overberg Branch of the OD Union.
Jeremy Ricketts (1957S), one of Patrick's closest friends has shared a few words below.
Patrick was one of my oldest friends and we spent many hours sailing his small yacht from the False Bay Yacht Club in Simonstown. He was a great humanitarian in that he always went out of his way to help anyone who expressed any sort of trouble to him. In keeping with that trait, he was always a calm and non-aggressive person. A great sense of humour with a fondness for Spike Milligan, and with that a love of anything Irish. There are many of us who will miss his company.
