Violence Against Women and Children

On Thursday Morning the School stood silently along Campground Road in Solidarity all who have been victims of violence and abuse.

4th September 2019

The OD Union and Bishops community supports and endorses the stance taken by the School regarding violence against women and children:

Guy Pearson (Principal) reports: The continued violence and abuse of women and children has led to justifiable outrage in our country. As a school we need to make our voice heard and tomorrow morning all boys and staff are encouraged to wear black clothing. At Chapel tomorrow morning at 07h45 Father Monwabisi will lead an appropriate service which will include a time of silent memorial. Thereafter we will proceed out of the main gates and will line Campground Road in silence to show our solidarity with all who have been victims of violence and abuse.

We welcome all ODs to join us at this service and at our vigil which will last until 09h00.

In addition to this, the statement
HERE will be read at the service tomorrow and will go on our website and social media. We are looking at other ways to sensitise our boys to the terrible scourge of violence against women and children in our country and encourage all parents to engage with their children appropriately.

Yours sincerely

Guy Pearson
PRINCIPAL
