Class of 1983

The first game between Bishops and Boland Landbou was played in 1982.

That side was captained by Andrew Campbell (1982G), it included some great characters of Bishops Rugby, Mark Neil (1983W) who later ran out for Zimbabwe, Mike Bayly (1983S) , who now heads up Rugby at Rugby School (UK), who incidentally will be playing against us on 22 July on the Piley, Guy Kebble (1983S), Charles Koster (1983F), who sadly passed away a while ago, Doc William Bolus (1982F), who has sons at Bishops currently, Craig Marais (1983S), Craig Wilson (1982S) and Andrew Russell (1981G) to name a few.

That year the score was 9 - 6 in favour of Bishops.

This year Boland Landbou beat Bishops 22-19.  Thankfully the weather did not spoil the game.  It was cold but there's nothing like a bit of rugby “op die Plaas”, with some pannekoek, Koeksisters and good coffee to ease the chills.
