The Old Diocesan Union extends its warmest congratulations to Dayaan and Mustapha Cassiem on their historic triumph in the 2025 Tulp Hoofdklasse Men's League, widely regarded as one of the toughest and most prestigious domestic hockey competitions in the world.
Representing the iconic Amsterdamsche Hockey & Bandy Club (AH&BC Amsterdam), the Cassiem brothers helped steer their side to championship glory in a season filled with grit, flair, and trademark South African tenacity.
Both Dayaan and Mustapha are not only integral to their club side in the Netherlands, but remain central figures in the South African national hockey setup.
Dayaan, who currently serves as the captain of the national side, continues to lead by example, combining fierce determination with an effortless grace that has become his signature. Mustapha, equally dynamic, brings flair and pace that keeps defenders guessing and fans on their feet.
For the Cassiem brothers to lift the trophy with AH&BC Amsterdam is not only a testament to their individual brilliance, but also a proud moment for South African hockey, and indeed, for the Bishops community back home.
We at the ODU celebrate this remarkable milestone with great pride and admiration.
