The OD Union is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of Daniel Neuhoff (2022K) and Brett Horn (2022B), who have been selected to represent South Africa U21 at the 2025 FIH Junior World Cup in India. Adding to the significance of this honour, Daniel has been named the team's captain for the tournament, a testament to his leadership, composure, and influence both on and off the field.
Their selection is even more special given their long-standing friendship. Daniel and Brett are best mates who have played hockey sid-by side for years, representing Bishops U13A, the College 1st XI, and later continuing their partnership at Maties Hockey. Their shared journey from schoolboy hockey to the international stage is a source of immense pride for the Bishops community.
This year's Junior World Cup marks a historic expansion to 24 teams, promising a highly competitive and globally diverse event. South Africa has been drawn into Pool A, where they will face Canada, Germany, and Ireland, a challenging group that will demand precision, resilience, and unwavering intensity from the young South African side.
The tournament begins on 28 November 2025, and all at Bishops will be watching with immense pride as Daniel and Brett take the Astro on the world stage. Their journey from the Woodlands to representing their country is an inspiration for current boys and ODs alike.
We congratulate Daniel on his captaincy and wish both players every success in India.
