ODs win IPT 2019

Six ODs competed for Western Province in the men's inter-provincial hockey tournament (IPT) this past week, with five of them taking home the trophy.

OD Hockey Club

Alex Stewart (2013O), Ryan Julius (2013K), Mustapha Cassiem (grade 11), Dayaan Cassiem (2017W) and Malachy Barbour (2017G) competed and won the men's 2019 IPT after beating Southern Gateung in the Final. Idrees Abdulla (2018M) competed for the Western Province B side. 

The scores were tied at 2-2 after normal time which saw Mustapha, who is just 17 years old, scoring both of Western Province's goals. 

Province went on to win the resulting penalty showdowns 3-2. 

A special congratulations to Dayaan who scooped the young player of the tournament award.
