The Mitre - Home of the OD Union |
Jeremy Lawrence turned 90 on Saturday 21 June. The Mitre was the venue for his book launch today Friday 27 June, as well as a fitting place to wish him a Happy Birthday. Approximately 70 invited guests, so many with OD connections, attended the a tea party for him.
Two Bishops musicians Travis Turner and Yazeed Lalkhen performed three pieces, on clarinet and piano: the Alegretto by Camille Saint Saëns, the Poco Adagio by Leopold Kozeluch and I got rhythm by George and Ira Gershwin. This was to the delight of the audience.
Paul Murray the ODA was requested to say a few things about Jeremy. Matriculating from Founders in 1952, Jeremy was awarded the Alice Scholarship as well as the Theron Scholraship.
